'Karzzzz' opens to mixed response

The sole release of the week, KARZZZZ, has opened to mixed houses. The opening was best in U.P. and parts of Rajasthan. Single screens, in several circuits, were also good. However, the multiplexes sported a different picture completely. The opening at plexes was below par almost everywhere, taking the trade by complete surprise. In fact, the trade was unanimous that the opening would be huge, but that wasn't the case at all. Too many prints and too many shows are being attributed to the below the mark occupancy. Will things improve on Saturday and Sunday? Let's wait-n-watch!

Heroes-album-dull-and-boring-music-review

Neither the promos of “Heroes” nor its songs are exciting. Despite composers like Sajid-Wajid and Monty Sharma, the album is quite boring.

The album starts with unimpressive number “Badmash launde”, a rustic track rendered by Parthiv Gohil, Shail Hada and Rekha Rao. While their singing is nothing to write home about, the composition is worse while the lyrics are not understandable at all. Not worth listening.

Next is “Gurbani”. It is better than the previous track. Sung by Shail Hada, the song is hardly a minute long, but is soothing. The Sajid-Wajid composition in this prayer is pleasant to hear.

Next comes “Heroes Theme”. It is a soothing number with a lingering appeal.

“Makhana” reminds of 1950s’ and 60s’ songs that used to have a social message. Dhols, an Indian percussion instrument, are predominant in the song composed by Sajid-Wajid, but despite that it turns out to be insipid. Sukhwinder Singh, who is accompanied by Wajid and Sowmya Raoh, is not able to lift the mood with his vocals.

“Mannata” is a Punjabi romantic track. It is melodious but, again, doesn’t really excite. Jalees’ lyrics are quite average.

“Wat’s up my bro” is composed by Monty Sharma. A thumping number, it has Kunal Ganjawala rendering with power-packed energy, but sadly to no avail, as, like most songs in the album, it isn’t very appealing.

Except “Gurbani” not a single song is worth listening to or writing about.

Music to ears: SunoMusic launched

THE news is going to be music to the ears of numerous Bollywood fans in Canada. A new website from which thousands of popular and lilting Bollywood melodies can be heard 24/7 has been launched.
SunoMusic.com was initiated by a Toronto man who wants to change the way people listen to music. “We want to give our users an experience they’ve never had before,” says Suresh Krishnan, who conceptualized SunoMusic.com. “The quality of streaming on the website is excellent, it’s exclusively Bollywood and there’s nothing out there that’s quite like it.”
Bollywood music lovers can tune into a collection of thousands of songs 24 hours a day and listen to their favourite melodies, check out new numbers and read movie news and reviews at the website.
“Currently, SunoMusic offers more than 10,000 songs and all may be enjoyed free of cost,” said Krishnan. “We will soon start offering audio and video downloads for a fee,
which is yet to be determined.”
The website also offers a variety of features which will enable listeners to share the music they love, get the latest scoop on Bollywood stars and play a host of fun games.
“SunoMusic is an entertainment/ lifestyle hub for anyone and everyone who loves Bollywood. We aim to present the lifestyle/ culture and music in a format that cannot be found anywhere else,” Krishnan added.
In the future, Krishnan plans to showcase South Asian artists inCanada and provide them with a
platform to exhibit their talents globally.
“Our aim is to increase the understanding of South Asian culture and offer South Asian artists a platform to promote them globally,” he said. “We firmly believe that in today’s world of multiculturalism, Bollywood acts as a great unifier across the world. People who are often described as bilingual, trendy and cosmopolitan are as likely to jive to Madonna as they are to Bollywood.”
“The website has user-friendly design and its availability through igoogle and netvibes gives it a
unique advantage and the ability to catch the pulse of the international audience,” said Krishnan.
